Adoption Sadness

I was looking at Paper Doll Designs (which is a blog that I have taken a liking to and look at occasionally). And from there I followed a link to a site that I haven’t been to before, The Bevin’s Family. On the front page of the site, is the most heartbreaking story.

The Bevin’s brought home a baby girl, Tess, who they adopted.

Through out the adoption the Bevin’s were friendly with the birth mom. They even spent time with her socially.

Baby Tess was born healthy and happy. While in the hospital, the Bevin’s spent time with Tess. They introduced her to their children.

The Bevin’s brought the baby girl home 2 days later. Everything was good.

And then…. 4 hours later, the Bevin’s received word that the birth mother wanted to keep Tess and that she had changed her mind about the adoption.

And within 30 minutes, the Bevin’s no longer had this new baby girl in their world. The Bevin’s received no explanation of the mother’s change of heart and the adoption agency hasn’t contacted them since.

If that isn’t the saddest thing I’ve heard in awhile, I don’t know what is.

Bevin’s family, my heart goes out to you. What a hard situation for everyone involved.
