Water Color in the Morning

One of my favorite blogs for years now is SouleMama.

SouleMama is a wonderful young woman with children who makes a conservative effort to install the importance of creativity on her children.

I love reading about what SM is up to daily with her children. It is very inspiring.

Yesterday SM posted a series of photo including this one,

to help illustrate a project that she likes to do with her children.

Here is what she has to say about it:

Every so often, I remember to do this little thing that we love – laying out a simple project at night, after the kids have gone to bed so that it’s there – waiting and ready – when we wake. It may be something new or rare, or it may just be something that we do in the everyday. Like watercolors. Either way, I think it’s a nice way to wake up. And it seems my little ones agree. Without mention of it’s presence, I watch them ever so slowly make their way to the table one at a time. And slowly – just as they themselves are waking up – the white of the paper fills with color and life.

If you want to read more or you love children and art and believe in creativity, you must go visit SM’s wonderful blog.

Looking at this photo makes me want to get out there and paint. I completely love the idea of the quiet morning water coloring. Lovely.
